Food fun?

on

We're in the baby food stage now. You know, the stage where you stand in front of your baby three or so times a day and patiently shovel glop into her mouth over and over again, and she lets it dribble all down her chin, and grins and spits it back at you, and tries to grab the spoon, and just generally manages to make a huge mess?

That phase.

It is not my favorite phase, in case you couldn't tell. It's time-consuming and messy, and lots of time and lots of patience for cleaning up messes are two things I don't have much of right now. I cannot wait until she gets to the phase where I can just hand her some cheerios or bananas and let her feed herself. That phase is messy too (as a matter of fact, even my 4-year-old is still messy) but at least I don't have to spend my mealtimes feeding her instead of eating my own food.

Two good points about the baby food stage, this time around:

1. I have a 4-year-old who thinks feeding her sister is the coolest job EVER and begs and pleads to help. I do not mind this in the least, since I supervise while still getting other things done. And she does quite a good job.

2. At least you get cute messy-face pictures like this.

ugh. I am not a fan of this stage either. :) I wish my kids were better about feeding our baby. They are all excited to feed her a couple bites and then they're done. And they make a pretty big mess. But way to look on the bright side. :) Cute pictures.
